Two-axis positioning with voice-coil actuators
BEI Kimco Magnetics has a two-axis precision positioning system using a direct linear magnetic drive based on voice coil actuators which achieves sub-micron positioning with 50g+ acceleration rates
This sensor cluster is built with mature technology devices currently in volume production.
The complete MIGITS unit operates from 28V DC, weighs only 1.1kg and provides serial digital output of position, velocity, altitude, heading, attitude, time, acceleration and angular velocity data.
Developed for aviation, military and aerospace applications, the unit has a positional accuracy of 3.9m SEP, velocity to 1m/s, attitude to 1mrad, heading to 1.5mrad.
Environmental specifications include a military temperature range, 12g RMS vibration and 20g, 11ms half-sine shock capability.
