BERU F1 Systems' novel system for the protection of wiring harnesses in harsh environments has been named "Innovation of the Show" at Autosport International 2007.

BERU F1 Systems' novel system for the protection of wiring harnesses in harsh environments has been named "Innovation of the Show" at Autosport International 2007.

The award, judged by the editorial panel of leading motorsport engineering title Racecar Engineering, was presented to the Norfolk company for its Wire in Composite product, a technology that featured on Jaguar's C-XF car at this month's Detroit Auto Show.

WiC completely encloses wiring looms in a bespoke carbon fibre sleeve, protecting them from vibration, environmental and physical impact.

The technology improves durability, packaging, weight and aesthetics, a considerable advance over existing wiring looms.

"It is fantastic to receive recognition from our industry", says BERU F1 Systems' Managing Director John Bailey.

"We firmly believe the technology offers a performance and durability advantage for motorsport applications, we are looking forward to demonstrating these benefits on track soon".

The innovative technology continues to be recognised throughout the motorsport and engineering world.

The Autosport International Award follows WiC reaching the finalist stage for Race Tech's Innovation Award, The MIA's Innovation Award and the IET's Innovation Award for Transport.

Its success is not limited to awards; BERU F1 Systems is undertaking application projects in both the automotive and aerospace industries.
