This acquisition will lead to an increased capacity for stainless steel suction bands that are used primarily in the secondary processing of tobacco.
The renowned quality and service provided by the Belt Technologies Group will be enhanced by the addition of new belt designs to its product portfolio.
The stainless steel suction bands are used in the production of cigars and cigarettes, and are available in a range of sizes and choice of smooth or gripper surfaces.
They are used effectively and efficiently to measure and carry tobacco through a suction system on many types of cigarette manufacturing machines.
Stainless steel belts and hygienic tobacco handling go hand in hand.
Belts made from stainless steel provide a powerful solution to any cleanliness problems associated with tobacco handling and cigarette production.
Their resistance to heat, with some steels capable of operation in over 400C, makes their use in certain applications a prerequisite, particularly where steam or high temperature treatments are required.
Stainless steel belts are odourless and will not influence the aromatic properties of the tobacco.
They do not generate particulate and hence they cannot pass on to the tobacco any unwanted fibres or particles which may prove harmful.
They need no lubrication and can be adapted in many ways to enhance their properties such as addition of custom attachments to the belt or special coatings.
As well as providing solutions to the secondary tobacco processing sectors, the steel belts from the Belt Technologies Group are becoming the belt choice of designers for the primary and packaging arms of the industry, offering unique and innovative solutions to the most challenging of applications including precision indexing and heat-sealing of cigarette boxes.
