Stress analysis software gains European angle
The Autopipe 6.3 pipe stress analysis program includes a new European piping code library, which incorporates a comprehensive list of EN13480-compliant codes.
Programme offers alternative upgrade for AutoCAD
Bentley Systems has launched its "You Deserve Better" upgrade programme and website for AutoCAD users facing forced retirement of their software by Autodesk.
CAD software at no cost for students
Students and educators can now download MicroStation PowerDraft 2D/3D CAD software at no cost.
This version includes new smart component 3D OpenGL rendered graphics and uses "quad" viewports, similar to those familiar with CAD systems, to assist users both in modelling complex piping systems and interactively reviewing results.
The emphasis in this release has been to provide tools to speed analysis, and to enhance this already very comprehensive program.
For instance, the introduction of an interactive input data spreadsheet for checking and global editing, will be welcomed by many new and experienced users alike, as a positive time saving benefit, which will undoubtedly reduce input errors.
This has been supplemented with an efficient results spreadsheet with powerful sorting and filtering options.
Many will also welcome the large number of static and dynamic load cases available, more than any other major pipe stress program on the market.
Load combinations have been increased to 250 code and 250 non-code combinations.
David Eastwood, of Siber, established UK resellers of the complete range of Bentley Plant design analysis products, says: "There have been many updates to AutoPipe in the years I have been involved with this product, and I believe this is one of the most significant releases I have seen".
"Many of the enhancements have been included as a direct result of listening to feedback from the user community".
"This is important to reinforce AutoPipe's position as a brand leader across many diverse industries, where pipe stress analysis is an essential element in piping design".
Autopipe is used extensively for offshore subsea applications as well as onshore chemical, power, pipeline and process piping systems.
The program can import piping systems from Autoplant, Plantspace and Intergraph PDS, allowing complete designed systems to be analysed without the need for remodelling.
