New variable displacement vane pumps
from Vickers
Vickers Systems has introduced two new families of variable displacement vane pumps: the low pressure VVS series and the medium pressure VVP series.

Larger capacity for hydraulic motors
Eaton has introduced larger capacity versions of their hydraulic low speed high torque geroler J series motors. Eaton J-02 motors give a substantial source of rotary power in a very compact envelope.
Complete Self Feed Drilling Systems introduced
Berendsen's new self feed drill units, supplied by Compair Tools and Equipment, combine an air or electric motor with a double acting pneumatic cylinder and associated control valves in one unit.
This enables the machine designer to accurately match the requirements of his hydraulic system and the capabilities of the pump, resulting in efficiency savings over the life of a machine.
Both series feature separate adjustments for pressure compensation and maximum displacement.
These new pumps are designed primarily for the automotive and machine tool industries.

Effective couplings for joining hydraulic tubes
KR couplings use an 'O' ring to form a pressure seal between the body of the coupling and the outside surface of the tube. The tube is held in place by a collet compressed onto its outside surface.
Improve Productivity in Mobile Machinery
Salami offers both single function levers, which are bankable, and dual function joysticks (i.e. operating two directional control valves), which can have electrical switches built into their handgrip
All pumps are of modular construction and through-drive configuration, enabling the user to build cost saving multiple assemblies quickly from individual sections.
The design of the combined rotor and parallel-keyed shaft allows secondary pumps to be fitted to any model, simply by removing the pump cover and using an adapter kit containing all the necessary parts.
Inventory savings are thus realised where a plant uses both single and multiple pumps.
Multiple pumps can comprise either VVS/VVP sections only or a mix of these and other Vickers vane or piston pumps, giving design engineers the ability to specify an assembly precisely geared to their application.
In addition to the two mechanical-type compensators available on VVS models, the VVP series offers a wide range of hydraulic regulation including load-sensing and electronic proportional control.
In fact, it is the type and range of controls that constitute the main difference between the two families.
This concept allows a maximum number of pump configurations to be built from a minimum number of components.
The low-pressure VVS series is offered with displacements from 6 to 100 cm3/rev, in four frame sizes and 3 displacements per frame size, while the medium-pressure VVP series ranges from 16 to 100 cm3/rev in three frame sizes, also with 3 displacements per frame.
The full range provides up to 21 possible "displacement x pressure" combinations.
Maximum operating pressures are to 150 bar for VVS pumps and 160 bar for VVP pumps, both at 1800 rev/min.
Port connections are BSP or UNF threaded or four bolt SAE flanged depending on frame size.
Mounting options include a choice of ISO and SAE flanges, and an industry standard base mount unit, Vickers VVS and VVP variable displacement vane pumps are totally interchangeable with many competitors' flange mounted offerings.
In the UK these new pumps are available from Berendsen PMC Limited who have a wealth of experience in the application of hydraulics throughout industry.
