Nozzles atomise at lower pressures

A BETE product story

Bete has further enhanced its industry-leading, direct pressure MicroWhirl nozzle.

The sprayer, already delivering the finest atomisation of any direct pressure nozzle, has been enhanced to enable superior operation at a lower pressure than before - without sacrificing performance.

The sprayer is ideally suited to, among others, fire suppression, gas turbine inlet cooling, quenching, humidification, moistening, odour control, fogging and coating applications.

Now designed for atomisation at a pressure of just or 10bar (previously 70bar) the highly efficient MicroWhirl delivers the finest droplet size for a nozzle of its type.

Consisting of a manifold and one to seven removable nozzles, the MicroWhirl typically produces 8000 times more droplets - with 20 times more surface area - than a conventional sprinkler system operating under the same conditions.

Remaining suspended for a far greater time and producing a much higher rate of heat absorption, the MicroWhirl's extremely fine droplets are also quickly vaporised when exposed to fire, increasing in volume 1600 times, and reducing the concentration of oxygen by diluting it with inert water vapour.

With a sophisticated pinless design, the MicroWhirl eliminates the presence of drips that typically occur with impingement nozzles.

Available with an optional safety wire hole for extra protection in extreme conditions, each nozzle comes with a 70um polypropylene filter to prevent clogging, necessitating only minimal maintenance.

Delivering a narrow drop size spectrum in a cone-shaped spray pattern, the MicroWhirl has a maximum operating pressure of 210bar with a flow rate range of 0.009 to 0.076g/min.

Available in 0.25, 0.125 or 0.375in-24UNF versions, the nozzles are manufactured in hard-wearing 303 and 316 stainless steel and are available with an optional safety wire hole.
