With an order value exceeding US $15 million, Bartec has received the largest single order since the company's foundation in 1975 to supply complete analyser systems to the Kinef refinery in Kirishi.

With an order value exceeding US $15 million, Bartec has received the largest single order since the company's foundation in 1975 to supply complete analyser systems to the Kinef refinery in Kirishi which is situated 150km south east of St Petersburg.

After intensive negotiations, Bartec has again beaten off a host of international competitors to receive the prestigious order.

The city of Surgut, one of Russia's most important oil production centres, is located in the West Siberian lowlands, approximately 5 hours flight from Moscow.

The city is a major hub in the West Siberian pipeline network.

In Surgut, both the petroleum and natural gas pipelines coming from Nischnewartowsk and Nowy Urengoi as well as the pipelines leading to Nowosibirsk, Perm and Tscheljabinsk meet.

Surgut is also the corporate domicile of one of the largest Russian oil companies, Surgutneftegas.

This company accounts for 13% of the Russian oil production.

Currently, the company is planning to make major investments in the Kinef refinery in Kirishi, 150km south east of St Petersburg.

Advanced technologies from the Bartec analyser product area which monitor the quality of aviation fuel are in particularly high demand within the scope of the refinery's expansion; specifically, for the monitoring of kerosene, which is freely flowing up to -60C.

Within the scope of this order, Bartec will deliver analysers with a total value of over US $15 million.

Expanding the existing refinery, Kinef will build and commission a hydrocracker plant by 2009.

This plant facilitates an improved cracking of petroleum, resulting in a considerably enhancement of the fuel quality.

CEO Ralph Koster said: "As one of the market and technology leaders in the field of safety technology, Bartec benefits from the globally growing energy demand".

"This bulk order is a milestone of our internationalisation strategy and demonstrates that our company is prepared to meet the challenges of international business".
