ASTA BEAB is proactively working with independent laboratories around the world to develop testing partnerships The aim is to give manufacturers a choice of laboratory facilities close to sites of production, to save them time and money

ASTA BEAB Laboratory Liaison Manager Pat Gibbons welcomed five newly accredited laboratories in a recent statement.

On IPH, Germany, Gibbons said: "We are delighted that IPH have achieved accreditation and are now working with us as a specialist test laboratory".

"They have a distinguished reputation within the international test community so we knew they had the expertise and the facilities to deal with a range of diverse projects for our clients".

"IPH also had a programme of large investment to develop and extend their testing capabilities, so they were a natural choice to consider for accreditation".

"We're delighted to have them onboard".

Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is based in India.

Gibbons continued: "Our primary task is to help manufacturers across the world to secure local testing and certification services".

"By extending our laboratory network and working with CPRI in India, we have taken another step towards achieving our goal".

"CPRI are well respected in India and bring extensive expertise and local knowledge to the partnership".

"They have world-recognised expertise in testing power transmission and distribution systems and we are very pleased to be working with them".

Damstra from the Netherlands is the third newly accredited lab.

Gibbons said: "ASTA BEAB has extremely stringent expertise and performance requirements for the test laboratories that it accredits and it is kudos to Damstra that they have both the skills, experience and facilities to secure an accreditation".

"We are certain that Damstra's facilities will be invaluable to anyone seeking short circuit and temperature rise testing for their assemblies to secure a product certification and we are proud to be working with them".

Also new to the network is Compliance Engineering Ireland, of whom Gibbons added: "EMC emissions and immunity issues effect manufacturers of every type of electrical product".

"EMC is an issue everyone has to deal with on an ongoing basis and finding a partner you can build a long-term relationship with who has the expertise to deliver the testing needed, isn't always easy".

"The EMC team at CEI are one of the most proficient and friendly in Europe and it is exciting to have them as an ASTA BEAB accredited laboratory".

On the fifth appointment: "We are delighted that kA Testing Facility has satisfactorily completed our accreditation process", said Gibbons.

"We have had a long association with the organisation and its parent company, Ter-mate, and we have always been impressed by their dedication to achieving the highest levels of safety and performance".

"We are confident that the services offered by kA Testing Facility will be of great benefit to the electrical industry".
