Call for papers on jetting technology
The organiser of the 17th International Conference on Jetting Technology has issued a call for papers for presentation at this prestigious event, to be held in Germany during September 2004.
Water jetting technology continues to find new applications in diverse industries as users take advantage of developments and improved equipment capabilities to introduce innovative solutions to their production, maintenance and decommissioning problems The technology has advanced significantly in recent years
New applications have emerged as industries as disparate as medicine, petrochemical, food processing, automotive and aerospace engineering, and construction recognise the benefits of cutting a diversity of materials accurately without the force or heat associated with traditional tools.
Jetting technology is also helping solve some of the world's environmental problems in cleaning and recycling applications and in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and military hardware.
BHR Group's 17th International Conference on Jetting Technology, "Advances and future needs", aims to address continued demand for authoritative information about best practice and new techniques.
It extends the sequence of highly successful biennial events that was established in 1972 and continues to draw together the world's leading specialists.
The organiser has now issued a call for papers for presentation at this prestigious event, which will be held in Mainz, Germany during September 2004.
Focusing on applications, developments and technologies, the scope of the conference has evolved over the years to reflect the maturity of the technology and the range of industries adopting jetting.
Since its inception, the conference has led to the creation of a number of national meetings and associations to promote jetting technology and remains the premier international event on the subject.
It provides the ideal forum to present and discuss the many industrial applications of water jetting, the latest in research and development, and emerging issues and challenges for suppliers and users.
Case study and technical contributions are welcomed on all aspects of the design and application of jetting technology.
It is likely that papers accepted for presentation will cover topics such as: manufacturing applications including economic aspects, comparison with alternatives and cutting, machining and trimming; health and safety including products and testing, legislation and standards, training and safe practice, inspection and insurance; civil applications including contracting, cleaning, hydrodemolition and concrete refurbishment; environment including recovery and recycling of water and abrasives, decommissioning of nuclear, oil and gas and petrochemical plant, controls, waste disposal, military decommissioning; innovation including new applications, new components, robotics and automation, state-of-the-art technology and machine design and control.
The conference is aimed at those who need to know what jetting can offer.
It is particularly relevant to those who devise or use jetting across a broad range of aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, precision machining, process, food, medical, nuclear, military, construction, contracting, petrochemical, mining and excavation, stone and marble, research and government disciplines.
The event is sponsored by the International Society of Water Jet Technology (ISWJT).
Additional support is provided by KMT Waterjet Systems of Bad Neuheim and Water Jet of Neustadt which will host visits to water jetting facilities near to the conference venue.
Boride will again sponsor a special conference best paper award to reflect the innovative nature of jetting technology.
VLN Advanced Technologies of Canada is providing financial sponsorship support for deserving candidates who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
