To meet the high demand for specialised training in fluid sealing technology BHR Solutions is running another of its highly popular training courses.

Previous participants from fluid power, aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, valve and pump manufacturers, white goods, medical device and chemical process companies as well as suppliers of sealing systems have all benefited from the "hands on design" format of the course.

The practical content is aimed to help manufacturers and operators who are becoming aware of the need to build in reliability at the design stage as the cost and safety implications to industry of seal failures is totally out of proportion to the component cost.

Participants have access to experience and research in sealing and containment technology developed over 25 years and are encouraged to discuss their own design problems.

The course covers sealing concepts with examples of fluid sealing applications, comparison of seals and bearings, leakage rates and heat flows in seals; static and dynamic sealing mechanisms and design parameters, properties of elastomers and plastics; reciprocating and rotating application design requirements; plus causes and costs of service failures.

The gasket course covers design including joint mechanical design, materials, operation limits, stress-strain behaviour, leakage and bolt assembly.

The course will be held on the 30th and 31st March 2004.
