Water jetting conference is open for registration

A BHR Group product story

The 17th International Water Jetting Conference is now open for registration.

The 17th International Water Jetting Conference is now open for registration.

Water jetting continues to find new uses throughout industry as users take advantage of technical advances and improved equipment capabilities to introduce innovative solutions to their production, maintenance and decommissioning problems.

New applications have emerged as industries as disparate as medicine, petrochemical, food processing, automotive and aerospace engineering, and construction recognise the benefits of cutting materials accurately without the force or heat associated with traditional tools.

Jetting technology is also helping solve some of the world's environmental problems in cleaning and recycling applications and in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and military hardware.

This diversity creates opportunities for technology transfer between industries where similar technologies can have very different applications.

The knowledge gap between these industries must be closed before the full potential can be realised.

BHR Group's 17th International Conference on Jetting Technology, "Advances and future needs", will address continued demand for authoritative information about best practice and new techniques.

It extends the sequence of highly successful biennial events that was established in 1972 and continues to draw together the world's leading specialists.

Delegates can now register for this prestigious event, which will be held in Mainz, Germany, from 7th to 9th September 2004.

Focusing on applications, developments and technologies, the scope of the conference has evolved over the years to reflect the maturity of the technology and the range of industries adopting jetting.

Since its inception, the conference has led to the creation of a number of national meetings and associations to promote jetting technology and remains the premier international event.

It provides the ideal forum to present and discuss the many industrial applications of water jetting, the latest in research and development, and emerging issues and challenges for suppliers and users.

The opening address to the conference will be given by Professor Hartmut Louis of the University of Hanover.

Separate conference sessions will cover topics such as: industrial and production applications; health and safety; training; legislation and standards; products and testing; environment including recovery and recycling of water and abrasives; civil engineering; innovation, automation and state of the art technology; military decommissioning; jetting performance; surface preparation; medical; mining and civil engineering; jet formation; and recycling.

The conference is aimed at those who need to know what jetting can offer.

It is particularly relevant to those who devise or use jetting across a broad range of aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, precision machining, process, food, medical, nuclear, military, construction, contracting, petrochemical, mining and excavation, stone and marble, research and government disciplines.

The event is sponsored by the International Society of Water Jet Technology (ISWJT) and the Water Jetting Association (WJA).

Additional support is provided by KMT Waterjet Systems of Bad Neuheim and Water Jet Sweden of Neustadt who will host visits to water jetting facilities near to the conference venue.

Boride will sponsor a special conference best paper award to reflect the innovative nature of jetting technology.

VLN Advanced Technologies of Canada is providing financial sponsorship support for candidates who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.

Bohler Hochdrucktechnik and Ceratizit Luxembourg are also sponsoring the event.
