BHR Group's 18th International Conference on Water Jetting Technology builds on the success of previous events to fulfil demand for authoritative information about best practice and new techniques.

BHR Group's 18th International Conference on Jetting Technology builds on the success of previous events to fulfil demand for authoritative information about best practice and new techniques Water jetting technology has matured during the past three decades yet continues to find new applications in diverse industries as users take advantage of developments and improved equipment capabilities to solve their production, maintenance, medical, environmental and decommissioning problems

Industries as disparate as medicine, petrochemicals, food processing, automotive, aerospace engineering and construction have developed applications for jetting which are only possible because of its ability to cut and shape accurately many hard-to-machine materials without the force or heat associated with traditional tools.

Jetting technology is also helping solve environmental problems through innovative techniques for cleaning and recycling and enabling the safe and economical decommissioning of nuclear facilities and military hardware.

The conference extends the sequence of highly successful biennial events that was established in 1972 and continues to draw together the world's leading specialists.

The organisers have issued a call for papers for presentation at this event, which will be held in Gdansk, Poland, 13-15 September 2006.

Focusing on applications, developments and technologies, the scope of the conference has evolved since 1972 to reflect the technology's maturity and range of industries adopting jetting.

It provides a forum to present and discuss industrial applications of water jetting, the latest in research and development, and emerging issues and problems for suppliers and users.

It is also an opportunity for technology transfer between industries that have developed and seek solutions to their problems.

Papers accepted for presentation are likely to provide practical insight into the latest news and developments of water jetting by presenting information about innovative research and theory, examples of real-life projects and application case studies.

Potential topics for papers will include: manufacturing and industrial including cutting, machining and trimming; civil engineering including mining and quarrying, tunnelling, construction, contracting, hydrodemolition, concrete refurbishment, and stone and ceramic cutting; transportation including aerospace, automobile, shipbuilding and ship repair; environmental work to meet military, nuclear, oil and gas and cleaning and surface preparation requirements; economic and cost comparisons with alternative technologies; health and safety including products and testing, legislation and standards, training and safe practice, inspection and insurance; innovation including applications, components, robotics and automation, state-of-the-art technology, and machine design and control; difficult and dangerous environments; and future directions in research and industrial requirements.

The conference is aimed at those who need to know what jetting can offer.

It is particularly relevant to those who devise or use jetting across a broad range of aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, precision machining, process, food, medical, nuclear, military, construction, contracting, petrochemical, mining and excavation, stone and marble, research and government disciplines.

The event is sponsored by the Water Jetting Association.

VLN Advanced Technologies of Canada is providing financial sponsorship support for deserving candidates who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
