BHR runs its second UK fluid-sealing conference

Registration is now open for the BHR Group's 20th International Conference on Fluid Sealing, to be held in Nottingham, England from 7-9 October 2009.
This is only the second time the event has been held in the UK in the past 20 years.
The event creates the ideal forum for exchanging information on the latest products, techniques and systems.
It is also an ideal opportunity for knowledge transfer.
The conference will encompass all kinds of sealing devices.
Separate sessions at the conference will cover subjects including reciprocating seals, rotary-shaft lip seals, process seals and elastomer materials.
Contributions will be made by delegates from as far afield as Europe, the US and Japan.
The opening address will be given by Prof Elmar Baur, formerly president and chief executive officer of Burgmann Industries and former chairman of the European Sealing Association.
Since retiring from Burgmann Industries, part of the international Freudenberg Group, he has started his own management consulting business.
To promote discussion at the conference, the organisers have arranged a special forum at the end of the first day, where delegates will be invited to identify two requirements customers want from the sealing industry.
The committee believes this will spark a lively discussion.
The conference is aimed at everyone involved with the design and application of fluid sealing, in industries and sectors including petrochemical, research and development, oil and gas, health and safety, power generation, paper/pulp, defence, pharmaceutical, aerospace, food, automotive/transport, metal industries, fluid power and mining/mineral extraction.
BHR Group's 20th International Conference on Fluid Sealing is co-sponsored by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), the British Valve and Actuator Association (BVAA), the European Sealing Association (ESA) and Sealing Technology.
