Speedy setup for orbital spin riveter

A The Bifurcated and Tubular Rivet Company product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 4, 2008

The orbital spin riveter is of rigid construction and suitable for single-, multi-point or multi-spindle applications for fast and effective spin riveting.

It is 116 years since the Bifurcated and Tubular Rivet Company sold its first impact rivet setting machine and now an orbital spin riveter has been added to its extensive range of manufacturing solutions.

Operating virtually noiselessly, the machine can perform a wide variety of tasks and with suitable tools can flare, flange, join or swage.

Spin riveting is far quieter than general impact riveting and tool changes and set up times are much faster.

The orbital spin riveter can be set up in less than five minutes; training is easy and less experience is required from the operator.

The adjustment of timing and the force and stroke length of the riveter is precise and stepless.

This enables consistently high quality results with the minimum of operator skills.

Additional tooling enables easily repeatable settings for multiple applications on the same machine.

The orbital spin riveter is of rigid construction and suitable for single-, multi-point or multi-spindle applications for fast and effective spin riveting with precise control and gentle deformation.

Its simple and long-lasting tooling is available carbide-tipped.

Bench mounting is standard in the range but a pedestal mount is also available.

Special tooling accessories to reach inaccessible parts can be provided together with tool-locking devices for notching or marking.

An optional pressure pad is also available to hold component assemblies during riveting.

The orbital spin riveter is generally operated with manually placed rivets but in conjunction with other companies in the Aylesbury Automation group, located under one roof, the Bifurcated and Tubular Rivet Company can provide systems which are fully automatic with hopper or bowl fed rivet supplies combined with a robot handling process.
