Three teams from Worcester, Minnesota, Las Vegas, Nevada and South Windsor, Connecticut were on the winning alliance in the First Robotics Competition Championship that included participants from the United States, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Pamela Kan, President of Bishop-Wisecarver, attended the championship at the Georgia Dome and witnessed the spirited competition and camaraderie, as well as the dedication of mentors and volunteers.

"Supporting the First programme has been a very rewarding experience", says Kan.

"It's inspiring to see how excited these young people are to work as a team and learn math and science skills in a hands-on environment".

"The energy at the Georgia Dome during the championship could have powered a city".

Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway Human Transporter, founded First to create a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes.

FRC is among the programmes the public charity offers to motivate young people to pursue science, engineering, technology and math while building on life skills, according to First.

"The event gives young competitors a whole new perspective about their future, whether they opt for college or technical education", Kan says.

"Many of these young people felt neither was an option before they got involved with First".

"I am very proud that Bishop-Wisecarver can help support such a worthy investment in the future".

Other attendees expressed their delight at the innovative designs students brought to the competition.

Jim Lee, Engineering Team Leader at Kimberly-Clark, thanked Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation for participating in the competition.
