Brook Crompton's UK manufacturing facilities have passed demanding quality audits by two major international petrochemical project customers, American Aramco and Italy's Snamprogetti.

The petrochemical industries are amongst the most safety and quality aware areas of human endeavour.

Ian Allan of Brooks Crompton says: "From a safety angle, an oil rig or refinery is potentially a massive unexploded bomb, so tiers and tiers of safety measures are put in place and these extend out to equipment suppliers are their operations".

"Control systems can detect the start of potentially dangerous developments within a faction of a second and take corrective action".

"At such times petrochemical plant operators have to be confident that all plant will operate perfectly and deal with the problem instantly".

Following its audit, Aramco has approved the direct shipping of Brook Crompton motors to customers, rather than having them to go to another plant for strip down and test procedures.

Snamprogetti has a long-standing relationship with Brook Crompton, and since itd audit has confirmed several large orders which will run throughout 2004.
