A joint supply programme is being organised by Brook Crompton and Schorch to deliver at least 230 EEx d motors for a Eur 15 million petrochemical refinery refurbishment project in Iraq.

A joint supply programme is being organised by sister companies Brook Crompton of Britain and Schorch in Germany to deliver at least 230 EEx d motors to Kuwait, for onward shipment to Kerkouk in Northern Iraq for a Eur 15 million petrochemical refinery refurbishment project.

The motors required will vary in size from the smallest 0.22kW to giant 150kW units, and possibly larger.

Brook Crompton will supply the low voltage motors and Schorch the high voltage units.

The quality specification set down in the contract is commensurate with long life and reliability in a demanding environment.

It is realistically expected that many of the motors will receive little or no maintenance after installation, yet may be called on to work faultlessly for 20 years or more.
