Burke Industrial Coatings reckons its new Steel Plus range of epoxies provide packaging and processing machinery with excellent resistance to harsh CIP sanitation and other corrosive chemicals, and are impervious to high-pressure washdown and other severe factory conditions.

Using third-generation formulation technology, Steel Plus epoxies contain no hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and are extremely fast drying and easy to apply.

Burke's new product line includes Steel Plus 316 stainless steel epoxy, Steel Plus Novolac stainless steel epoxy, Steel Plus epoxy primer, and Steel Plus gloss white water-based epoxy enamel.

On display at PackExpo International next month in Chicago, Burke's Steel Plus epoxies are ideal for use by equipment manufacturers due to their tenacious adhesion and user-friendliness.

They are free from all hazardous air pollutants on the US government's HAPs list, have no odour, and can be applied to steel, galvanised steel, tin and aluminium in a variety of ways - brush, roller, air-atomised, airless or hot spray.

Steel Plus epoxies can be used in maintenance applications at the processing or packaging plant as well as in OEM applications during machine fabrication.

Steel Plus epoxies are resistant to alkalis and acids even as harsh as 40% sulphuric acid, and impact resistant at the 160in-lb level.

Steel Plus 316 Stainless Steel epoxy (10-810 stainless steel grey) is a tough, heavy duty epoxy designed for maximum performance in severe factory environments.

This water-based epoxy is pigmented with 316L stainless steel flake particles, and after application takes the appearance of gloss stainless steel grey.

Steel Plus Novolac (10-808 stainless grey) is an extremely chemical-resistant epoxy that will also provide maximum performance in severe factory environments.

Steel Plus Novolac is a water-based epoxy that produces a semi-gloss stainless steel grey appearance.

Steel Plus epoxy primer (30-850 grey) is a tough, heavy duty water-based epoxy primer that can be used on metal or concrete where maximum long-term protection is needed.

It produces a flat grey surface that is ready for top coating.

Steel Plus gloss white water-based epoxy enamel (20-202 USDA white) is a tough, high gloss, non-yellowing enamel.

This heavy-duty enamel is designed for maximum performance in severe factory environments.

All Steel Plus products are quick drying, with excellent adhesion characteristics.

They are available in 1 or 5 gallon sizes.
