The 3225 bench digital multimeter is now available from Black Star Instruments in battery-powered or mains-powered (3225MP) versions Despite its low cost, the unit features a full professional specification

DC voltage can be measured up to 1000V and AC voltage up to 750V with a maximum resolution of 100uV.

DC and AC current ranges are available up to 10 A with a maximum resolution of 100 nA.

Resistance measurement is up to 20 MW with a maximum resolution of 100 mW on the 200 W range.

The 20 kW range has sufficient full-scale voltage to turn on a silicon diode at a current of approximately 100uA.

An audible continuity tester is also featured.

When this is selected, an internal beeper sounds when the resistance between the test probes is less than approximately 50 W.

The display is a 31/2-digit, 0.5-inch LCD with polarity, overrange and low battery indication.

Battery life is greater than 7000 hours (from six alkaline C cells) when used on DC voltage measurements.

The display shows 'LO BAT' when the batteries need replacing.

The unit is housed in a compact (79H x 219W x 240D mm), light (1.2 kg) case, allowing its use in the laboratory, factory test bench or remote service applications.

Test leads are supplied as standard.

The 3225 costs £129.00 (plus VAT).
