Programmable synthesised 1GHz RF
generator
The TGR1040GP is a programmable synthesised RF signal generator with a frequency range up to 1GHz for most production and development applications where a basic stable signal source is required
The TGR1040GP from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) is a programmable synthesised RF signal generator with a frequency range up to 1 GHz The new instrument is suitable for FM analogue or digital radio-receiver sensitivity measurements, system gain measurements, oscillator substitutions, and as a signal source for many other RF circuit and system test tasks

Electronic loads offer high current capability
The Dynaload RBL Series of single-channel electronic loads offer an exceptionally high current rating of 1000A, and are ideal for the testing of large batteries and other DC power equipment.
Compact bench power supply provides 175W
The EX355, new from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is a single-output laboratory DC power supply providing an output from 0 to 35V at 0 to 5A.
In addition, the generator's low cost, ease of use and remote control make it eminently suitable for most production and development applications where a basic stable signal source is required.
The TGR1040GP uses a fully synthesised source locked to a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator.
This provides excellent signal frequency stability against temperature and ageing.
The frequency can be set to a resolution of 1 kHz across the whole frequency range from 10 MHz to 1 GHz, yielding a precision of 1 part in 106 at 1 GHz.
Stability is ñ2 parts in 106 over the temperature range from 5øC to 40øC.
The instrument provides an amplitude range of -l27 dBm to +7 dBm (0.l æV to 500 mV into 50 ohms).
Setting resolution is 0.l dBm or 0.0l æV.
Output level steps can be set anywhere between 0.l dBm and l00 dBm (or 0.0l æV to l00 mV depending on the entry mode).
Stepping the level is useful for quick assessment of parameters such as circuit linearity and dynamic range.
The generator provides internal or external FM modulation using either the internally generated 1 kHz modulator signal or an external signal range in the range from 300 Hz to 50 kHz.
This wide bandwidth allows for audio demodulator testing as well as low-frequency digital modulation.
The TGR1040GP provides full remote-control facilities for all its functions.
In addition, it can store nine full instrument set-ups in non-volatile memory.
This allows repetitive testing procedures to be undertaken quickly and accurately.
The TGR1040GP costs ?1399 (plus VAT) in the UK.
