The new ATS-2 audio analyser from Audio Precision allows use of PCs to give a familiar interface to allow monitoring of instruments, graphically display test data and easily share and archive data

The new ATS-2 audio analyser from Audio Precision has just been introduced in the UK by TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments).

This new PC-based audio test and measurement system provides design engineers and technicians with Audio Precision quality and the ability to choose performance capabilities to match specific needs and budgets.

With PC-based functionality, the ATS-2 allows use of existing PC investment to give a familiar interface to allow monitoring of instruments, graphically display test data and easily share and archive data.

Reports may be generated with preferred word-processing applications, and test data can be exported to analysis programs such as Matlab for extended analysis.

The built-in harmonic distortion analyser provides insight into a variety of circuit malfunctions, allowing the user to isolate circuit problems and adjust them quickly.

A multitone analyser provides comprehensive solutions to audio testing challenges by executing five performance tests in a single acquisition and collating all the data needed to graph any test result in less than one second.

This rapid, single acquisition testing saves the time and expense of individually setting up and executing each test.

The five multitone performance tests are 2-channel frequency response, total distortion versus frequency, noise versus frequency, interchannel separation versus frequency and interchannel phase response.

High-performance measurement capabilities include jitter and FFT of jitter, pulse amplitude, delay, word width, bit activity, sample rate and high-level decoded status bits.

Interface stimulus features simulate real-world degradations to measure the effect on the device during testing.

An optional performance pack for the ATS-2 increases the analyser bandwidth to 120 kHz, and includes complete digital interface signal measurement and analysis, including waveform display and eye pattern tests.

The ATS-2 costs ?6995 (plus VAT).
