The new cards are based on the 6U form factor for CompactPCI: a configuration adopted by GaGe after an extensive market survey and likely to become the industry standard for high-speed instruments.
CompactPCI has emerged as a natural successor to VXI, and is becoming a popular bus for building medium-cost manufacturing test equipment and large data-acquisition systems.
Electrical compatibility with the PCIbus enables CompactPCI to provide a low-cost platform for PC interfacing.
The fastest digitiser in the new GaGe family, the CompuScope 85GC, features 5Gsample/s sampling and 500MHz bandwidth on two simultaneous channels - a 100% improvement over its closest rival.
The highest-resolution digitiser is the CompuScope 1610C, which features 16bit vertical resolution at 10Msample/s sampling rate for two simultaneous channels, making it the fastest 16bit digitiser in the world.
All the CompactPCI products are fully compatible with the existing GageScope oscilloscope software, allowing users to acquire and analyse signals using CompuScope cards without having to write a single line of programming code.
Fully supported software development kits are available for all popular programming languages.
The development kits include fully worked examples and applications to help users quickly integrate the digitisers into their own systems.
