TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments) is releasing a new communications interface option for the Tektronix TDS1000 and 2000 series of low-cost digital storage oscilloscopes.

The TDS2MEM storage memory and communication module incorporates a mass-storage CompactFlash memory card.

The module is supplied as standard with an 8Mbyte memory card, but will accept any Type I CompactFlash card up to and including 1Gbyte, as well as a CompactFlash to USB memory card reader for use with a personal computer.

The TDS2MEM provides communication with other instruments, peripherals and systems through an RS-232 serial interface, which provides full talk/listen control of all modes, settings and measurements at a rate of up to 19,200baud.

A nine-pin Centronics-type parallel interface is also supported to provide direct connection to a printer.

Included with the TDS2MEM is a copy of the Tektronix TDSPCS1 OpenChoice PC communication software, which delivers simple, seamless integration between the oscilloscope and the PC, providing users with multiple choices to easily capture, transfer, document and analyse measurement results according to their application environment and preferences.

The TDS2MEM is priced at GBP245 (plus VAT).
