Blue Diamond, specialists in the design and supply of oil seals, holds a vast stock which includes specials for heavy duty use, for high speed rotary applications, for high pressure linear motion systems, and seals enjoying the added value of proprietary non stick surface treatments.

Heavy duty seals not only retain lubricants inside a mechanism: they also keep water, dirt and other contaminants out - vital in heavy construction and agricultural machinery, when the air can be thick with concrete dust or flying mud.

PTFE lip seals have a narrow band of fluoroelastomer bonded inside a conventional Viton body.

In operation a minuscule amount of PTFE is transferred to the surface of the shaft, filling microscopic pits and establishing a perfect lubricant film.

The result is efficient dry running and long life, even at speeds up to 20,000 rpm.

High pressure linear motion seals (withstanding oil at 100 bar) look like ordinary oil seals, but have a stainless steel insert within the nitrile body to hold the seal in place on a plain shaft or cylinder with just a tight interference fit.

Blue Diamond's SSHT and SBBT surface treatments of O rings and rotary shaft seals ensure impressively low start-up and running friction.

They also improve the ageing properties of the rubber, inhibiting deterioration in storage or when components are operated spasmodically or remain dormant for long periods.
