Mini servo drive completes range
The new Acopos mini servo drive completes the B and R series in the lower power range from 450 to 700W.
Controller goes mobile
The B and R product range has been expanded to include a mobile device that combines operating, monitoring and control - the Mobile Panel.
Thin client software is used to manage the connections between the industrial PCs, Power Panel 100 devices and the server.
When used in this way, the thin clients act as pure input/output units since the applications are actually executed on the server itself.
Clients are networked using very cost-effective Ethernet TCP/IP standard components.
The flat, robust, fan-free construction, as well as being equipped with CompactFlash and many different display variants (up to 15in XGA TFT) makes the maintenance-free Power Panel 100 perfect for use as a thin client.
While other systems require an expensive operating system on the server for similar solutions, the Windows XP Professional operating system is quite sufficient at handling this favoured B and R solution.
The convenient B and R configuration package is able to generate industrially useful solutions for both clients and servers from the "Remote Desktop Protocol" standard service.
This means that clients do not require passwords as the preferred client automatically connects to the server on system startup.
The other inactive clients display a simple login screen until the operator opens up the application using the mouse or touch interface.
An additional feature includes the ability to connect drives.
If a drive is used on a client (eg USB DiskOnKey), then it is connected over Ethernet.
This allows the remote drive to also be available on the server, making the replacement of parameters completely uncomplicated even though the actual application is running on the server.
