B and R is further expanding the functions of its Acopos motion product range.

B and R is further expanding the functions of its Acopos motion product range.

In general the B and R Acopos drive technology provides advantages such as uniform integration of drive technology in the programming environment, increased flexibility and productivity of the production machines and faster implementation due to efficient engineering.

The new smart process technology provides customers with cost-effective solutions and high production speeds.

This results in optimised processes without adding extra costs.

This freely configurable library, which is implemented in the drive offers a number of benefits.

Highly efficient and intelligent drive units allow seamless quality control.

High levels of accuracy and productivity are made possible with synchronous execution and reaction times of 400us.

The use of indirect process parameters reduces the amount of sensors needed which are often not sufficient for high production speeds.

This meets the requirements of modern motion control products such as high product quality, machine productivity along with short maintenance and down times and, to a greater extent, seamless quality control during production.

The library, uniformly integrated in the motion control product, has already led to significantly shorter cycle times while improving component quality on a variety of machines.

The standardised PLCopen motion control function blocks meet the requirements of a wide range of industries.

Compliance with international standards for programming industrial automation components, as with PLCopen, contributes greatly to reducing costs.

Standard interfaces allow software development that is compatible with all manufacturers and enable to provide support for different users during the entire software life cycle.

The single-axis movements range covers PLCopen motion control function blocks, conventional relative and absolute movements and also the option of overlapping movements.

For multi-axis movements, they support functions such as gears, differential gears (changing the phase angles) and cam profiles, as well as up and down synchronisation.

When using programming languages, the user can choose between Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Automation Basic (AB) or ANSI-C.

The expansion of the Acopos software functions now makes it possible to run motors in servo mode with feedback, as well as in frequency inverter mode without feedback.

As a result, applications which use synchronous or asynchronous motors without encoders can be seamlessly integrated with servo motors in the network.

Automation Studio, B and R's single programming tool, and Ethernet Powerlink guarantee full compatibility.
