Operator panel integrates multiple I/Os

Controller goes mobile
The B and R product range has been expanded to include a mobile device that combines operating, monitoring and control - the Mobile Panel.
The display, which is IP65 protected on the front, is equipped with 4x20 character resolution and is perfectly suited for simple control and visualisation tasks.
In 2005 10 additional keys were added without changing the compact dimensions of the PP15.
Ten of the total 26 keys are equipped with LEDs.
The additional keys simplify numeric input and allow the function keys to be available for application specific functions.
B and R offers two variants of the PP15 depending on the number of I/O points on the device.
The first model provides 16 integrated digital inputs and outputs.
Its inputs can partly double as counter and encoder inputs.
The second variant is equipped with four analogue inputs and outputs in addition to the eight original inputs and outputs.
The PP15 can access additional decentralised I/O points or servo drives via a CAN interface for applications which need an increased number of I/O points.
This results in a controller with a network for remote I/O and servo drives derived from a seemingly simple operator panel.
Integration into B and R Automation Studio, the programming and diagnostics tool for control, drive technology, visualisation, and communication, goes without saying.
