A new vacuum pumping system from BOC Edwards offers customised solutions for a wide range of central vacuum requirements, at off-the-shelf prices.
Centrastar is a highly flexible, modular system that allows configuration of a central vacuum facility according to users needs.
Mix-and-match modularity simplifies the process and reduces cost significantly, compared to equivalent fully custom-built solutions.
Based on BOC Edwardsū world-leading dry pump technology the core module includes a pump with flame arrestors, temperature controls and nitrogen seal purge.
These can be combined with other inlet and outlet modules, for example knock out pot, condenser and exhaust buffer tank, to create a central vacuum system to meet almost any specification.
Centrastar central vacuum pumping systems can be configured with a capacity of 80-400m3/h.
They provide a reliable, consistent vacuum, down to 0.4mbar.
The dry-pump system can handle different solvents without risk of cross-contamination, and has excellent dust handling capability.
The maintenance requirement is considerably reduced compared to oil-sealed and liquid ring technology.
With major service intervals of up to six years, the cost of ownership is considerably lower than an equivalent oil-based system.
BOC Edwardsū dry pumping technology is already installed in central vacuum systems in more than 100 facilities all over the world.
The design of the new Centrastar module uses this considerable experience to provide a simple, flexible and highly cost-effective solution for a wide range of central vacuum needs.
