Boge distributor Multi Pneumatics installed two Boge SD40 compressors and a booster unit into an external custom-built compressor room.
The Boge SD40 compressors are belt driven rotary screw compressors; each unit has a 30 kilowatt drive motor and for this installation produces air at a maximum 10 bar g.
The Boge SRHV booster compressor takes a proportion of the 10 bar line air and increases its pressure to 40 bar for use in the plant.
The machinery takes aluminium alloy sheets and transforms them into 3D shapes.
Andy Hares of Superform Aluminium said: "The compressors were installed in March when we moved into a new unit, and so far we've been very pleased with their performance.
They work automatically, shutting down when not required, which helps with energy saving.
"It was very important to us that any compressor we purchased ran quietly.
Some new housing was built near our factory recently and although we are separated from it by a high bank, we do have to make sure that all our machines run as quietly as possible." Like all Boge compressors, the 'S' Series is also designed to be service friendly.
Ease of access and a reduction in the number of components means that engineers can carry out their own day-to-day servicing with scheduled visits from Multi Pneumatic technicians.
The SD40 combines an integral dryer with the compressor, thus saving on space and traditional dryer installation costs.
