Convertor is a cost effective, reliable alternative to investing in new oil-free compressors or installing high maintenance downstream treatments.

The Boge Converter offers compressed air users Class 1 oil-free compressed air in compliance with ISO8573 and is a cost effective, reliable alternative to investing in new oil-free compressors or installing high maintenance downstream treatments.

There are currently two methods of generating oil-free compressed air; via an oil-free compressor or by installing downstream treatment from an oil lubricated compressor.

The choice to invest in an oil-free compressor is usually an easy decision for a new system when requiring a high volume of oil free air.

The higher capital cost can be justified over the projected lifetime costs.

Alternatively, where there is a low volume an oil-free piston-type compressor is the obvious choice.

The mid range market frequently opts for oil injected applications with Class 1 filtration to provide a very cost effective acceptable solution where the cost of an oil free compressor may be disproportionately expensive for the output required.

However, this popular type of downstream treatment used to produce oil-free compressed air with an oil-lubricated compressor involves both filtration and drying stages that creates additional costs at the investment stage, through servicing and final disposal stages.

The big concern always in this type of application is the potential risk of oil migration.

The new Boge Converter provides a cost effective, maintenance friendly and no risk solution to provide Class 1 air quality.

The catalytic convertor system in the Boge Converter offers total reliability over the conventional treatments hitherto used.

The catalytic convertor contains compact granulated pellets through which the compressed air circulates.

This process breaks down and converts both oil droplets and oil vapours.

The condensate that forms afterwards is completely oil-free and can be disposed of through a normal pure water storm drain without the need for additional treatment.

Most of the thermal energy required by the catalytic convertor is generated by the process itself so the cost of additional heating is minimised therefore providing an energy efficient solution.

The Boge Converter provides the operational reliability that cannot be attained by using conventional downstream treatment with an expected useful life of 15,000 operating hours.

At the end of this time the container, with the catalytic convertor granulate, is simply replaced.

Generating absolutely oil-free compressed air is paramount in sensitive industry sectors such as; the healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical sectors.

Most recently the food industry has come under increased scrutiny with the introduction of the BCAS/BRC Food Industry Code of Practice.

This new code highlights the overwhelming importance being placed on sensitive industry sectors to ensure their compressed air supply is absolutely oil-free.

The Boge Converter is easy to incorporate into an existing compressed air system.
