Fequency controlled screw compressors save energy

A Boge Compressors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 18, 2006

Boge Compressors has announced the extension of the energy saving SF series of frequency controlled screw compressors

Boge has introduced two 15HP models which now completes the range from 10HP to 30HP.

Similarly to the existing models, the SF15-2 and SDF15-2 provides the optimum energy saving, as well as space saving, solution.

The Boge SF series of frequency controlled screw compressors work strictly in accordance with the compressed air demand by producing the exact volume of compressed air at the pressure required.

Frequency control minimises idling time and evens out air demand fluctuations.

In the right application energy costs can therefore be reduced considerably.

SF series screw compressors can be integrated into any existing compressed air installation.

When used in conjunction with fix speed machines they can reduce energy costs significantly especially where there is a highly fluctuating demand pattern.

The new models are available in the standard pressure values of 8, 10 and 13 bar.

Flow regulation ramps down to 25 percent.

Free air delivery (F.A.D) range from 0.39 - 1.65m3/min, motor power 11kW.

By regulating the drive frequency the FAD can be reduced to 27 percent.

This allows energy saving by minimising idling times, over compression and compressor switching cycles.

In addition, the Boge SF15-2 and SDF15-2 have the same compact and space saving design as the 25HP and 30HP models.

The frequency converter is integrated into the design of the compressor with the SDF 15-2 further integrating a refrigerant dryer, creating - in both cases - a small footprint.
