A Boiswood product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 20, 2001

Furon quarter-inch ultra-pure precision regulators are now available in manual and pneumatic versions from Boiswood, specialist distributor of components for gas and liquid control.

Boiswood, the specialist distributor of components for gas and liquid control, is now supplying the new Furon UPRP (Ultra-Pure Precision Regulator) from St Gobain Performance Plastics, which is designed to provide precise fluid delivery and system integrity in high-demand applications.

The 1/4in Furon UPRP, which delivers precise volumes of aggressive pure chemicals and DI water while maintaining downstream pressure to a predetermined level, is available in either manually actuated or pneumatically actuated versions.

It is ideal for use in semiconductor, pharmaceutical and chemical processing applications where the fluid delivery system requires high-purity.

The unit, which is manufactured from virgin PTFE/Fluoroloy T with PFA wetted flow paths, handles fluid temperatures up to 194F (90C).

It features a PTFE isolation bellows that protects system chemistry and, in the pneumatically actuated version, a secondary diaphragm that also protects the user's compressed air system.

An optional integral leak detection port is also available for demanding applications.

All external surfaces are non-metallic, and the regulator is assembled and tested in a Class 100 Cleanroom.
