Differential pressure transducer responds faster

A Boiswood product story

Setra's Model 230 high output, low differential pressure transducer has an optional 3-valve manifold assembly to protect against accidental overpressure during installation in wet/wet differential use

Boiswood is now supplying Setra's Model 230 high output, low differential pressure transducer with an optional 3-valve manifold assembly to protect against accidental overpressure during installation and maintenance in wet/wet differential applications.

The brass-bodied, 3-valve manifold features a machined body requiring no internal pipe connections, thus eliminating the risk of leaks.

The rugged, yet compact construction requires minimum space for installation and use, and bleed ports allow for total elimination of air in the line and pressure cavities.

If the Model 230 is ordered with the manifold, the system is supplied fully assembled and ready for wall or pipe mounting.

And because the Model 230 has its own bleed ports there is no need to install additional bleed valves or buy 5-valve manifolds.

The manifold is also available as an accessory.

The Model 230, which is designed for wet to wet differential pressure measurement of liquids and gases, has a unique isolation system that transmits the motion of a differential pressure-sensing diaphragm from the high line pressure environment (e.g corrosive liquids) to the dry (air) enclosure.

Here it moves one of a pair of capacitance plates proportionally to the diaphragm movement.

This system responds to pressure changes approximately 20 times faster than conventional liquid filled transducers, The transducer, which operates in the pressure ranges 0-1 to 0-100psid, features a fast response capacitance sensor and advanced signal conditioning circuitry to provide a highly accurate, linear analogue output of 4-20mA proportional to pressure.

It comes with standard 1/4"NPT pressure connections and a standard 1/2" electrical barrier terminal block with conduit enclosure and 0.875 diameter conduit opening.

The low-cost 230 is ideally suited for process control, energy management, flow and liquid level measurements and determining pressure drops across filters.

It is available with uni-directional and bi-directional pressure ranges for applications with line pressures up to 250psig and is NEMA 4/IP65 rated to withstand environmental effects.

All parts exposed to the pressure media are stainless steel.
