Bonfiglioli Trasmital has developed a new drive with the ideal gear frame size for excavator slew drives in the 25 to 30t class.
Bonfiglioli's offering of five gear frame sizes for excavators in the 18 to 40t range is now completed with a medium size unit destined to become the standard for this growing weight class.
Technically, the new 710-M5X180 combines a planetary gear unit from the well-established 710T series with a Kawasaki M5X hydraulic motor, specially designed for slew drive applications.
The planetary unit, with available reduction ratios from 1:19 to 1:33, maximum torque delivery of 18kNm and a wide range of output shaft options, stands out for its compact design and excellent adaptability to application-specific requirements, and its outstanding reliability has been demonstrated in innumerable installations.
Bonfiglioli Trasmital's renowned flexibility in meeting customers' needs, combined with its technical knowhow and experience of every type of application, make this the ideal drive solution for the mobile machinery manufacturer.
The positive characteristics of this rugged and extremely reliable planetary gear unit, designed for the most challenging applications, are further enhanced by the hydraulic motor.
Equipped with high precision valves and antibacklash valve, the 180cm3 motor provides accurate, smooth starts and stops.
Its low output speed and optimised fluid channels mean that even at a rating of 330bar and maximum flow rate of 300 litre/min, the unit is extremely smooth running.
The integrated multidisc brake with 1kNm braking torque ensures that the excavator arm is unaffected even by high lateral loads.
The 710T-M5X180 gearmotor has a variety of reduction ratios to provide the optimal speed/torque ratio to meet customers' requirements.
Its ability to fit in any casing and conform to output shaft key parameters mean that it can be quickly customised for any excavator series.
Bonfiglioli's Trasmital product line comprises a range of planetary gearmotors which can be adapted to suit every type of machine.
