Web servers provide long-range fieldbus
extension
A scalable range of web servers provides a simple, fast web-based user interface for temperature, pressure and any other industrial or facilities process.
The scalable range of web servers available from Bourdon-Haenni provides seamless, reliable and secure connectivity between standard fieldbus protocols (such as Profibus, Modbus, LonWorks etc) and any corporate IP (Internet protocol) data network or the Internet giving a simple, fast web-based user interface for temperature, pressure and any other industrial or facilities process This solution enables a full range of control and monitoring applications from single devices such as utility meters and measurement points right through to large multiple-building systems
The web servers can remotely monitor and control fieldbus devices via the Internet, at a price that is competitive regardless of the size of application.
The applications supported by the web servers enable it to function as an area controller for a system or device, thus enabling a variety of traditionally discrete controllers to be replaced by a single multi-functional controller.
In addition to the web serving capabilities and graphical design tools, they also support alarm handling, data logging and scheduling applications.
Alarm data can be stored in the controller or on a local or remote server in a SQL, Oracle or Access databases or alternatively exported to a third party application via XML.
Alarms can also be associated with an operator action sheet; this enables detailed descriptions of actions to be taken in the event of an alarm condition.
E-mails can also be generated based on alarm events.
Data logging and presentation of the logged data is available through configurable web pages.
The data can be logged and can be stored locally in the controller or on a remote IP server in a SQL, Oracle or Access database and exported in the same manner as the alarms.
Multiple time schedules are programmed through the configurable web pages.
Triggers from a schedule can start functions such as logging or set the value of a network device or variable.
Holidays and specials days are also graphically configured through the browser.
At the core of the web servers is the Altitude Server; a Java-based web-serving application with a host of modular data services and applications.
Standard web pages can be served directly to a web browser from any web server without the need for a dedicated graphical user interface.
A diagnostic tool is preloaded, which allows complete remote control over the IP network; this includes backups, upgrades, diagnostics and remote application development.
Engineering tools have been built into all web server platforms to minimise the engineering time, while also enabling a completely customisable application to be developed around the needs of the end user.
Simply drag a network device or variable (eg pressure point) from the object tree on to a graphic page and all the associated control points and graphics will configure themselves on the graphical view automatically.
