To ensure the best deal, Jekyll is also offering a free 'telemetry healthcheck' to any environment monitoring equipment company in the UK wanting to offer a remote telemetry package to its customers.
The Telemodem2 range is built to withstand the harshest of environments and industrial conditions.
Powered directly from the telephone line, operation is continuous since there are no mains power or battery problems to worry about.
Added intelligence enables remote data collection from any monitoring equipment where a V24 data port is available and even optical data ports have been catered for.
Other features include data transfer up to 2400bit/s, remote setup and diagnostics for online maintenance, an industry standard 25 way 'D' data port connector, and CTR/21 compliance for use throughout Europe and beyond.
The Telemodem2 is easy to install, either at system design or as a retrofit, with built-in mounting lugs or the option of DIN carrier rail fixing.
Jekyll can fine tune the interface and mounting options to ensure a smooth telemetry connection with the environmental monitoring equipment.
To compliment this product, Jekyll has also launched Remote Manager - a powerful, new easy to use software package for checking set-up, trouble-shooting and routine telemetry diagnostics without having to make on-site visits.
This is ideal for communicating to sophisticated networks of monitoring equipment in remote hard to reach outstations, from a single location off-site.
The Telemodem2 has already made a big impact on remote telemetry applications.
The types of environmental monitoring equipment to benefit can include air quality analysers, emissions monitoring systems, water quality analysers, weather stations, tidal gauges, traffic level data loggers and water treatment systems.
The units have been fitted to plant equipment sensor systems, linked to PLCs, for 24x7 condition monitoring at industrial plants, as well as multi-utility meters.
The Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory (POL) based at Bidston Observatory, Merseyside has now installed Telemodem2 units to 44 sea level monitoring stations that make up the National Tide Gauge Network around the UK coastline.
This now means meteorologists can instantly download sea level data and forecast any storm surge that could breech flood defences, quicker than ever before.
