Ideal for remote industrial plant monitoring or remote energy metering, Telemodem2 industrial modems have years of experience in harsh industrial environments for efficient remote data acquisition at an affordable price.

The Telemodem2 can connect to equipment monitors, environment logging systems, leak or overflow detectors, door contacts, tank level indicators, and PLC programmable logic controllers that control plant sensor networks for remote condition monitoring.

The main advantage is the ability to download data from remote monitoring equipment as often as required, without the need to deploy resources on site.

Conventional modems were often too power hungry, difficult to set up and limited in configuration, but the Telemodem2 overcomes this through extended power options and a remote diagnostics capability.

There is a choice of data ports and interfacing depending on the host monitor/meter, and all Jekyll modems are interchangeable for added value to a customer's existing industrial telemetry set-up.

Five models are available.

The Standard is the entry-level low-power version that connects at speeds up to 2400bit/s (V22bis).

Data ports are compatible with both logic or RS232 signal levels and the caller line identity feature permits line sharing with other equipment for reduced installation costs.

The Freedom is a "zero power" version of the Standard.

This is ideal for true remote monitoring as all power is taken from the telephone line, rather than using mains or battery power.

This allows simple installation to legacy equipment where communications power cannot be easily provided.

The Fastlink features a 14,400bit/s (V32bis) high speed connection.

This modem is particularly suited for collecting larger amounts of data from remote sites and requires no more power than an ordinary low speed modem.

The Mobile is the latest in GSM mobile modem technology for extended versatility in remote monitoring.

What sets this apart from conventional GSM modems is the ability to draw power smoothly, without demanding large pulses of current, and remain in a standby state on literally microamps.

Supply voltages can be preselected to link up with battery powered data loggers as well as direct power supplies in distribution plants.

The Custom model means exactly that.

Customers can select the mounting and interfacing, the communications standard, mechanical configuration and also power supply.

Other requirements, such as environmental protection and intrinsic safety, can also be included depending on the application.

Customers are encouraged to discuss their needs with Jekyll engineers, who combine years of telemetry experience for all remote metering and monitoring applications.
