Jekyll Electronic Technology has launched a monitoring system that enables engineers to install a solution for the remote reading and data transfer of process or operating temperatures Using the Telemodem2 range of products and a temperature sensor, the Jekyll solution now lets engineers collect data remotely using PSTN, SMS, GSM or GPRS options

This greatly enhances the range of choices currently available and Jekyll works with its customers to ensure that whatever option is chosen, it fits in seamlessly with the company's communications strategy.

In order to keep processes running smoothly, temperature can be a critical measurement.

Using the new temperature monitoring system from Jekyll, operators can pre-set temperature limits and be alerted via phone, mobile or SMS immediately if attention is needed.

Working 24/7, this helps reduce time on site and there is peace of mind that the process is running smoothly at the correct temperature at all times.

The Telemodem2 range comprises industrial modems designed for use in harsh and rugged environments and are ideal for transferring temperature information.

There are 5 models in the range; the 'Standard' is the entry level low power version that connects at speeds up to 2400bit/s (V22bis), while the 'Freedom' is a 'zero power' version of the Standard.

This is ideal for true remote monitoring since all power is taken from the telephone line, rather than mains or battery power.

For more advanced communications needs, the 'Fastlink' features a 14,400bit/s (V32bis) high speed connection.

It is particularly suited for collecting larger amounts of data from remote sites and requires no more power than an ordinary low speed modem.

The 'Mobile' is the latest in GSM mobile modem technology for extended versatility in remote monitoring.

Ideal applications include monitoring storage temperatures, tank and fluid temperatures and ambient air monitoring.

Customers are encouraged to discuss their needs with Jekyll engineers, who combine years of telemetry experience for all remote metering and monitoring applications. Request a free brochure from Jekyll Electronic Technology ...
