A Jekyll Electronic Technology product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 15, 2007

The low infrastructure and installation cost of Jekyll Electronic Technology's low power radio communicator makes it suitable for cost-effective data transmission over a GSM/GPRS network.

Jekyll Electronic Technology has released a low-power radio communicator as part of its KEE range of telecommunication products and systems for the utilities and process industries.

This latest product needs no operating licence and its low infrastructure and installation cost makes it ideal for companies wishing to carry out cost-effective data transmission over a GSM/GPRS network.

Designed initially for gathering data on electricity power consumption, it can be applied to other utilities including gas and water.

The new system comprises a GSM communicator with a built-in modem and a set of radio adapters that make up the data transmission system.

The KEE Communicator works in the unlicensed frequency range 433/868MHz according to the standard ETSIEN300200 with a power output of 10mW and operating voltage range of 90 to 240V ac, 50Hz.

Various meter interfaces or measuring instruments can easily be supported, allowing the user to set-up a range of network configurations to suit the particular application constraints.

This flexibility offers users lower installation and operating costs.

This new system is available in the UK for the first time through Jekyll Electronic Technology and complements its existing range of communication devices and data collection software packages.
