The Gear Research Group (GRG) at the University of Huddersfield has been involved in nine major research projects worth about £800,000 over the past 15 years.
Tutors will be Mr R Haw and Mr V Murawa, of Flame Hardeners Limited and the seminar will cover details of the choice of manufacturing techniques available; the methods of specifying surface hardening; and the materials which are suitable for surface hardening and their response to treatment.
Delegates are being encouraged to take along for discussion examples of problems or component designs that they are currently considering.
