Gearing and Transmissions conference in
July 2000
The three-day international conference and exhibition is being organised by IFToMM Gearing and Transmissions Technical Committee in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University
A total of 91 speakers and a similar number of delegates, drawn from national and international members of the mechanical power transmission industry and academia, are expected to attend a major conference and exhibition at Nottingham Trent University from July 4-6 2000 The three-day international conference and exhibition on gearing, transmission and mechanical systems is being organised by IFToMM Gearing and Transmissions Technical Committee in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University and supported by the British Gear Association (BGA)

Single flank gear measurement workshop
Single flank gear measurement will be the subject of a British Gear Association workshop on Wednesday, May 17.
Selected papers on gears, mechanisms, drives, transmissions, mechanical systems, robotics and related areas will be presented at the conference.
The BGA will award a prize to the best paper and this will be presented at the Conference Banquet.
Selected papers from the proceedings will either be published in a special issue of the 'International Journal of Gearing and Transmissions' or will be considered for publication in the 'Concurrent Engineering; Research and Applications' journal.
The BGA will also contribute to a special session on 'Enhancing research collaboration between academia and industry' on Wednesday, July 5.
Chris Charles, Chairman of the BGA Research Committee, will be describing the involvement of government, industry and academia in identifying and supporting BGA project work, in response to members' requirements, by giving examples of existing projects.
Contributions are being invited for a workshop on 'Internet-based engineering' and there will be another workshop on 'Evolutionary Adaptive Computing', both on Monday, July 3.
Delegates will also be able to visit Rolls Royce at Derby and a social programme includes a Lord Mayor's Reception on July 3 and the Conference Banquet at the Albert Hall, Nottingham on July 5.
The conference and exhibition are being co-sponsored by The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Manufacturing Industries Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (ImechE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the International Federation for the Theory of Machines and Mechanisms (IFToMM).
Any company wishing to book exhibition space must return a booking form to the BGA at Suite 43, IMEX Business Park, Shobnall Road, Burton on Trent, Staffs DE14 2AU by June 12.
