A record amount of data was downloaded from the British Gear Association's popular web site during September, some 32 per cent up on August 2000.

A record amount of data was downloaded from the British Gear Association's popular web site (www.bga.org.uk) during September.

A total of 1.27 Gigabytes of information - 32 per cent up on August - was downloaded from the web site, which recorded 26,960 requests during the month.

'State of the Art' files and software accounted for 78 per cent of the downloads, which amounted to at least 43,000 pages.

Search engine referrals also set a new record at 1,539, four per cent higher than the previous best, in August.

There were 2,582 visits to members' pages in September, one of the highest recorded figures, representing 123 visits every working day.

It was also a record month for activity from USA.com companies, USA educational institutions, Belgium, Spain, Taiwan, India, Argentina, Ecuador and Costa Rica and Zimbabwe.
