Web site activity has more than doubled in the last 12 months for the British Gear Association who are having record downloads.

Web site activity has more than doubled in the last 12 months for the British Gear Association who are having record downloads.

Research reveals that particular interest is being shown in members' pages and technical publications.

Total downloads exceed 40,000 pages a month and visits to members' pages are more than 2500 a month.

Over 25,000 pages of the BGA's Gear Technology Manual and State of the Art pages are downloaded each month.

The BGA now has 800 pages of information on the web and is considering organising an E-commerce seminar to assist members.

Chief Executive Mr.Jim Hewitt said e-commerce was a continuing advisory service to members.

"E-commerce is demonstrating the way forward.

"It is leading and showing the way and is able to show results to encourage members to do things in a similar way", he added.

The web site is part of the BGA's 'Competitiveness Improvement Programme'.
