The British Gear Association and Cranfield University are again collaborating to present a gear design course in the first quarter of the year.

The one week residential course covers the fundamentals of gear design and an appreciation of the flexibility of the involute system.

The course is intended to give a basic understanding of gear geometry and design procedures together with an introduction to manufacture of gears and an appreciation of metrology and tolerancing.

The course is presented by leading academic and industrial staff and would benefit personnel with some previous experience as well as those who are new to gearing.
