One of the British Gear Association's newest members is Smiths Aerospace Actuation Systems.

The Wolverhampton based organisation specialises in the design, development and manufacture of flight controls and thrust reverser actuation systems for civil and military fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.

The business is involved in a wide range of primary (hydraulically) and secondary (mechanically) powered flight control actuation systems which increasingly involves new technology such as fly-by-wire and associated electronic controls.

Said the Association's Chief Executive Tom Lynch: "Smiths Aerospace Actuation Systems has a reputation for technical excellence and for world class manufacturing.

Their customers include Airbus, Boeing, Canadair, Eurofighter, Learjet and Gulfstream - and the BGA welcomes them onboard".
