The British Gear Association has appointed Andrew J Harry as its new Technical Executive.

The British Gear Association has appointed Andrew J Harry as its new Technical Executive.

He will initially spend most of his time visiting BGA members seeking their views on the development of all technical aspects.

Harry brings to the BGA an extensive knowledge of materials as well as surface and heat treatment and in addition to his technical capabilities has experience of the commercial workings of trade associations.

His recent post was with the Surface Engineering Association for whom he interacted with industry, academic institutions and national and local government.

Harry, 52, a graduate of Sheffield University, is a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Materials.
