The British Gear Association is to host the annual meeting of Eurotrans, a confederation of trade associations whose members comprise gear and transmission manufacturers from the whole of Europe.

The British Gear Association is hosting the annual meeting of Eurotrans, a confederation of European trade associations whose members comprise gear and transmission manufacturers from the whole of Europe.

The annual meeting is from 26th to 29th June in Chester and in addition to the business side of the gathering the event includes a gala dinner, a medieval banquet at Ruthin Castle and horse racing at the famous Cheshire track along with other excursions for delegates partners.

Roger Haw, Vice Chairman of the British Gear Association, said the event offered an opportunity for BGA members to meet and discuss with their European compatriots any business they feel concerns the European market.

"This includes attitudes and opinions that manufacturers should present to governments within European countries and with the EU.

Eurotrans can present the collective views of its members to any appropriate official body.

"Members' views are valued and attendance at this event is a very effective way of networking", he added.

The economic and technical commissions of Eurotrans will be meeting during their visit to Chester.
