The British Valve and Actuator Association has recently launched a new leaflet specifically designed to help a vitally important sector of the industry - its members' customers.

BVAA Director, Rob Bartlett, explains: "Like many industries, the users of flow control equipment have developed very 'lean' operations".

"The end result is that many companies can no longer afford to permanently employ a resident valve or actuator expert".

"The trend towards temporary contract staff also means that some companies lack the time or staff to attend exhibitions, evaluate new products or undertake product training".

"BVAA has addressed this issue by producing a customer services leaflet which explains the services that BVAA can supply direct to its members' customer base".

For many years now BVAA has arranged "desktop" exhibitions at the user's own premises.

These mini exhibitions allow customers to tailor an event to suit their needs and at their own convenience, at absolutely no cost to themselves and with minimum "downtime".

Says Bartlet: "We can demonstrate new products directly to the client, saving them both time and money".

"Through our 'tenders service' we are also able to help customers track down the right supplier with minimal effort on their part".

"All we require is a brief description of the product and its application, and BVAA will seek out suppliers on the customer's behalf".

"BVAA are also able to offer low-cost training courses by some of the industry's finest experts".

"Again these can be tailor-made and delivered in-situ, or as part of our regular national programme of courses".

"BVAA can also provide extensive technical services, including guides on legislation, consultancy services or even technical help-desks during our mini exhibitions or courses".

Copies of BVAA's new leaflet are available on request or can be downloaded from the BVAA website.
