Planetary gearboxes for waste shredding machines
Brevini's planetary gearboxes are playing a major role in helping to overcome the growing environmental problem of waste recycling as part of machines designed for shredding waste.
The latter has been specially developed by Brevini to fit inside a winch drum.
This keeps the overall winch dimensions to a minimum.
The innovative BW design offers complete reversibility: therefore clockwise and counter clockwise rotation and load control are all standard system features.
The winch is equipped with its own balancing valve unit, to control a load while it is descending, and also a static parking brake.
The brake is a multi-disc unit, with hydraulic opening controlled by the selector valve.
It is interlocked with the balancing valve, to keep the load in position if the hydraulic pressure is no longer available.
A major feature of the BW series design, and a major element in the units compact size, is that the casing of the balancing valve control unit functions not only as a cover for the hydraulic motor and the power supply, but also as a hydraulic fluid control element.
The interior of the casing contains the seats of the load control balancing valves and the cartridge control selector, making both assembly (ie drum rotation direction) and maintenance easier.
Actuation of the winches is via a combination of the hydraulic motor, which is integrated with the fixed part (axis) of the winch, and a speed reduction system.
The latter is based upon Brevini's highly efficient, multistage, planetary gear design which is not only highly efficient and compact, but also weighs little.
The modularity of Brevini's planetary design has provided much scope for space saving on the winch design, by enabling the rope winding drum to be combined as an integral part of the speed reducer system.
This has been achieved by designing the drum's internal architecture as the final element of the reduction stages.
The BW series winches are available in 10 sizes with maximum line pulls ranging from 800 to 2900daN.
They are TUV and DNV approved and are supplied with a use and maintenance booklet in compliance with the 89/392/EC machine standards.
