Smaller cartridge available for lubrication system

A Brammer UK product story

The LAGD 60 cartridge for SKF's System 24 is ideal for applications where smaller bearings are being used, when a lower purge is required, or where space is critical.

The high standards of lubrication management and efficiency set by SKF's System 24 are now available from BSL in a smaller sized package.

Complementing the existing 125 ml System 24 cartridge is the LAGD 60, a new 'Mini' 60 ml version that is 35 per cent shorter than the standard.

The LAGD 60 is ideal for applications where smaller bearings are being used, when a lower purge is required, or where space is critical.

The "Mini" cartridge widens the scope for System 24 to provide practical, cost-effective solutions to the 36 per cent of all premature bearing failures caused by poor or inadequate lubrication.

In common with the larger cartridge, the "fit and forget" LAGD 60 guarantees a continuous supply of fresh lubricant.

It offers the advantage that its flow rate can be set accurately to suit the application, enabling it to operate non-stop until the next scheduled cartridge change.

This provides benefits in terms of reduced demands on maintenance staff, reduced costs and greater levels of operating confidence and security.

Each System 24 cartridge is hermetically sealed to prevent the ingress of dirt and foreign matter.

The desired grease flow rate is set via a simple Allen key adjustment.

Also available to aid the user in this respect is 'DialSet', a floppy disk program, suitable for PC's working with Windows 3.1 or later versions.

This will provide the grease purge setting for System 24 according to bearing size, type and operating conditions.

Once set, a cell unit within the cartridge produces hydrogen gas, which creates the pressure to disperse the lubricant.

A transparent container shows, visually, the dispense rate.

The lubricant cartridges themselves are available pre-filled with greases or oils, including high temperature, non-toxic, non-staining and food compatible, all formulated by SKF's specialist laboratories.
